VTI Bazaar Exclusive Trove

Good afternoon, everyone! I'm back :)

It's not like i'm busy or something, i was just too lazy to write a post >.< *bricked*

So today i'm not gonna post a review or something, or maybe this is a half-review (?) post, but the thing is, i wanna share my exclusive trove from VTI. So around last August or September (and today is November *bows*) i received an email from VTI saying that i've won a Bazaar Beauty Award 2013 wishlist competition or something (i did put everything in my wishlist tho haha) and they asked for my address so they could send the Bazaar trove to my house :) Thank you, VTI :)

So they gave me:

1. Pond's Flawless White Deep Whitening Facial Foam

    Well actually i wasn't really hoping to get this because i can find it in any drugstore but 

     then again it's free ;) i've tried this and it's quite nice but i'm not a fan of whitening  

     products (cause my skin itself is already fair) so it's just something to clean my face. 

     Oh and it contains tiny scrubs, too, so far i'm using it everyday and nothing goes wrong 

     to my skin.

2. Maybelline The Magnum Volum' Express Waterproof

    This, i can also get this in any nearby drugstore, then again it's free ._. I haven't tried it 

     yet so i'm not saying anything about this.

3. Lancome UV Expert GN-Shield BB Base (2x10 ml)

    And then they gave me more BB Base ._. I already have it reviewed in my VTI  

    Lancome Box post so please just go there lol

Not in the Mood

Hi :D

I've been away for God knows how long and here i'm saying i'm not in the mood *bows* please forgive me *bows again*

I went home from August to mid-September and i had almost no internet connection at home so i spent my holiday tossing and turning on my bed. Not that i hate it ;)

And you know what, VTI sent me an email that i'm one of the winners of their Bazaar Beauty Award Wishlist and they sent me a free box containing some (random) products which is quite useful to me :) I wish i can write a review about it soon :)

And i just had my bottom-left wisdom tooth extracted today (yay!) and yes it huuurtsss~ The pain was bearable when the doctor injected anesthetic drug and drilled my jawbone (that's what anesthetics are for), but then after the anesthetic effect disappeared; that's where the real torture began. My jaw feels tense and swollen and i can't even take a bite of ice cream :( I've taken anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs but they works just too slow to my liking. And i have other three impacted wisdom teeth waiting to be extracted :""((( none of them causes pain but i'm afraid they will push on the next tooth and cause a misalignment of the bite so i'm planning to remove them before they cause trouble :s

So, really... i'm not in the mood *bows*

Review: BRTC Jasmine Waterful Sun Mist

Hi everyone :)
today i'm going to review a sunscreen from BRTC named Jasmine Waterful Sun Mist. It is a spray-type sunscreen with SPF 32 PA++.

You need to shake the bottle well before spraying it on your face. My opinion about this is first, it smells like sunscreen how do sunscreens smell?. I think they don't even bother to put any artifial fragrance to make it smell better. Second, it contains tiny shimmers when i spray it on, and it leaves some kind of slippery, shiny film on top of the skin, just like when you use a normal sunscreen. I don't know if it also acts as make up fixer but i think if your make up is too matte you can create a dewy, glowy effect with this mist. If your make up is to oily then....... i don't know. Greasy, maybe? Third, i don't know if the SPF in this mist works or not. I don't know how many times i have to spray for this product to achieve the SPF i desire. I haven't try going to the beach or being exposed to extreme sunlight so i don't know if this thing works or not. So far i have only use it to be under the sun for 1 hour and my skin looks just fine.

Conclusion: I need to wear it more often to find out if it works well or not. But now there are tons of foundations, bb creams, and tinted moisturizers that contain SPF, even high SPF so i don't think this mist is necessary. But you might need it if you want to go out bare faced and need some protection.

Review: Pourvous Blossom Tea Body Lotion

Good evening! :)

I've just finished my OSCE and i need to redo one station (guess which one) but it doesn't matter lol.

Today i'm going to review a body lotion from pourvous (i think you haven't hear about this brand, same with me), i'm interested in this body lotion because they say it doesn't contain parabens and whatnots.

At the back it says it doesn't contain paraben, lanolin, PABA, color, and methanol fragrance. And they don't test on animals.

But do you see the second ingredient? Paraffin? I thought it's not suppose to be there? Do you think paraffin is suppose to be the main ingredient for body lotion?

So this is how i feel when i put it on. At first it smells like tea, but it turns out into weird smell but still bearable. It dries out quickly and not greasy and i feel some kind of cooling sensation when i put it on, like i just put on a mint lotion. My skin feels smooth after that, and really no sticky feeling. But the smell is just funny :)))

Review: Vanity Trove Indonesia Lancome Exclusive Edition Box

I subscribed (again) to Vanity Trove Indonesia because they suddenly released this special edition box containing lancome products. Price: IDR 225.000. Hint: i love it so much <3

So i received this box several days ago (i ordered it and they sent it right away), and the box looks like this:

1. La Vie Est Belle EDP (4 ml)
   I love this so much <3 the smell is wonderful; sweet and fresh, awakening!
2. La Vie Est Belle Shower Gel (50 ml)
   it smells like the perfume (of course), but it gives me that slippery feeling ._.
3. La Vie Est Belle Body Lotion (50 ml)
   yeah it smells like the perfume. The lotion is a bit runny and slippery. But overall i love these three products.
4. Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate (7 ml)
   I don't know how it really works but it makes my face a better canvas for my make up
5. UV Expert GN-Shield BB Base SPF 50 PA+++ (5 ml)
   This is quite nice, it's not as grey as other bb creams. And high SPF <3 But it has dewy finish so i mattify it with powder. My face starts to get oily after 3 hours, especially on my nose area:
   
   

   

   
   
6. Teint Miracle Foundation (5 ml)
   it's really sheer and the shade is perfect to brighten up my face (shade O-03). but it's all washed out after 3 hours (without anything on top):

7. Genifique Yeux Light-Pearl Eye-Illuminating Youth Activator (5 ml)
   This is my best eye care so far <3 when i use it at night, i can see immediate result in the morning (reduced eyebags) but the price is just something i need to consider </3
8. Visionnaire Correcting Polishing Cream (5 ml)
   haven't tried this yet hehe
9. Hypnose Star Waterproof Mascara (2 ml)
   I only apply one thin coat, hoping that it will look natural. I don't curl my lashes. My lashes look visibly longer, but not thicker. My lashes look the same after 3 hours under then sun. No clumping. I think it's nice for daily wear.
   
   

   

Conclusion: the box is worth it <3 It gives me some kind of preview of what products to buy, but if you look at the retail price the products are considered 'normal' :) At least they're not disappointing :)

Review: BRTC Perfect Pore Clean Set

Hi sorry i haven't post anything lately, i've just finished my block exam and i'm now preparing for my OSCE next Monday so yeah, nervous :)

Today i wanna share you my opinion about one of my tons of attempts to get rid of blackheads, it's a 3 step kit called 'BRTC Perfect Pore Clean':

The set constains deep cleanser (50 ml), purifying mask (15 ml), and ultra serum (10 ml).

Instructions:

I don't have a steamer in my room so i use a magic jar :))) and i use warm cotton pads to heat my nose a little bit more. this is how i use the products:

deep cleanser --> purifying mask --> ultra serum

The cleanser softens up my nose so it's easier to squeeze the blackheads out of my nose. This is my first time squeezing out blackheads and i think 'ew! so this is how it feels like' but the result is worth it. The purifying mask works so-so for me. It just dries out the pores and make them feel smoother. The ultra serum, too, makes the pores smoother so there's no bumpy feeling when i run my fingers over my nose.

The result is the best on the first day. But for the second day to the whole week, my nose peels out hideously :( I can feel the burns, like after i sunbath for the whole day and i forget to wear sunscreen :(

i definitely need something better than this set but it's a waste to throw it away so i think i'll finish this up first then go look for other products :)

Review: Vanity Trove Indonesia July 2013 Box

Another beauty box to review :)
Today i'm reviewing my july box from Vanity Trove Indonesia (IDR 180.000/box) so this is how the box looks:

it's a drawer type box and it's very sturdy, i like it :)

1) Roberto Verino - Gold Diva EDP sample

it smells soft, like a baby powder :3 i like it but i'm not planning to buy if because i still have two perfumes with me OTL tell me if you want the voucher :)

2) Clarins Shaping Facial Lift Lipo-drain Serum sachet

i think it's for those with bluky, round face?

3) Clarins Body Lift Cellulite Control

well as you can see it's for those who have cellulite. i think i'll just give it to my mom ;)

4) Natvia Nature's Sweetener

Well i don't know why so many people dislike this, but i like this so much. People are saying 'this is a beauty box, i demand beauty products, not foods' yeah but for me, i've been wanting to subscribe to food boxes out there but the shipping fee here is more expensive than the box itself so i bury my wish to subscribe but then tadaaaa VTI gave me low calorie sugar XD next time please give me organic tea bags or pasta seasonings or such XD

5) Vaseline Healthy White Serum SPF 30 PA++, Insta Fair, and Night Repair

Well this is why the box feels so full when i open it -_____- i don't really like them even if they're in full size. What's the point of subscribing a beauty box if you get the product that you can find in a mart five minutes away from your home? I still have my body butter and my body lotion with me and they gave me THREE FULL SIZE body lotions --"

Tell me if you want any of them, or all of them ._.

6) Silky Girl Magic Pink Lip Balm

it's in shade 08 strawberry. This white lip balm turns pink when it touches your lips. It smells like strawberry soda and it has a cool-minty feeling when i apply it on my lips. I think the color is buildable because it's getting more pigmented the more i rub it on my lips.

and i think this is too white for me. The shade matches the inside of my arm but my face has the same color as the back on my hand, which is darker, and i look like i'm wearing a mask OTL

i'm also not a fan of bb cream because it turns my face grey. and this one does!

See? grey~ but luckily it doesn't break me out *sigh*

Review: Beauty Treats Indonesia Platinum June 2013 Box

Good evening!

i once told you that i started subscribing to beauty boxes, and now i'm gonna review one of them. This is my first box from Beauty Treats Indonesia, June edition. For this June edition they offer two kinds of box, Gold Box (IDR 95.000 per month) and Platinum Box (IDR 135.000 per month) and i chose platinum box. The box arrived on Friday, June 28th. It's a June box and it arrived 'almost' on July. They have told us first that this month's box will arrive late because there was an error on booklet printing. i understand it but this is my first and they gave me a 'not so pleasant' impression already :s

OK let's just take a look at the box :)

It's a relieve that the box came in perfect condition, with plastic cover to prevent it from getting wet. inside the brown box there is a white box with silver ribbon (for platinum box). The booklet is placed on top of the box. the booklet contains brief introductions about the products inside the box, also some vouchers printed on the last page of the booklet (this month's voucher: zalora, kay collection, dr. Jart)

As you can see the box is a bit empty. Before this i read several blogs ranting about the 'minimum' content of the box, comparing its content to last two months boxes which was (in their opinion, and i saw the pictures too) much much fuller than this month's box. I don't know, maybe BTI is trying a new concept (?)

So inside the box are five products:

1) Menard Fairlucent Whiter Essence 5 ml

it's a whitening serum i think?

2) Masami Shouko Travel Mirror Powder Case

I think it's quite nice. The package is sturdy and they gave a puff inside. But it's obviously too big to fit in the bag for travel purpose.

3) Menard Blotting Paper

Well nice packaging. It contains 150 sheets. absorbs oil quite nicely, too. Pretty useful.

4) Dr. Jart+ V7 Beauty Balm (sample size. maybe 5 ml?)

It's a bb cream from Dr. Jart (you don't say?). It has a scent, it's not really nice nor it is annoying. It just has a scent. Just slightly tho. It contains SPF 30 PA++, just enough to protect my face. And it says on the back that it has whitening and anti-wrinkle effect, wanna try?

5) Make Up For Ever HD High Definition Powder (sample size, tiny >.<)

The powder is white but it turns translucent on my face. Pretty nice, It mattifies the oily parts of my face. And if you look closely it also has tiny shimmer, but not really shimmery that you look like a disco lamp, it just gives illuminating effect so the face looks brighter.

Review: Cubox May 2013

As you can see from the title, this is a late review post OTL

Today i'm reviewing a beauty box from Korea called cubox (the name stands for 'curator box') it is a box that contains korean products chosen by korean stylists, and they provide free shipping <3

They first lauch was in may and they have three types of boxes: Fashion & beauty for Women Box (standard & VIP), Style & Grooming for Men Box (standard & VIP), Interior & Lifestyle Box. I subscribed to Fashion & beauty for Women Box (standard) for $58 (IDR 558000). It's kinda expensive but hey they gave me lots of products and free shipping from korea so that's okay ._.

no i'm planning to subscribe for the next box because: 1) too many boxes to choose, i want them all; 2) looking at the content it's getting kinda more expensive than the May box :s

So let's get to the review. This is how the box looks like:

The box was kinda crushed when i received it. Because it's an international package, i have to take it from nearest post office using my national ID card for safety reason.

The box was big but was not heavy at all, and the content is wrapped with bubble wrap and paper. I didn't receive any customized letter saying sweet things or whatnots :( I browsed the internet and i saw some who received the letter :(

OK now let's see the contents. I have tried half of the products and i'll tell you my opinion about them.

The box contains mask sheets, wash off masks, emulsion, concealer, bb cream samples, cleanser sample, sunscreen samples, and lipgloss from various korean brands like nature republic, holika holika, innisfree, and a'pieu.

There are two products (innisfree strawberry capsule recipe pack and nature republic shea butter ask sheet) that are not in the picture because i have finished using them and threw them to the bin. Well Let's start reviewing the products i have tried so far:

This strawberry capsule recipe pack is a wash off mask. On cubox's site it says that this strawberry pack is in charge for whitening. When i open it i smell a nice strawberry milk scent. They only put a little amount of product inside (less than 1/3 of the pack) but it's quite a lot when i use it. Most people say they can use it up to three times, but i can use it up to six times! The consistency is really watery, i apply small amount of product with multiple layers instead of huge amount at once to prevent the product from dripping off my chin. When there is product left i wrap it using plastic wrap and alumunium foil and store it in the refrigerator to keep it fresh.

About its whitening job, i think it really works on me (i use it for six days straight) because my dorm owner says that my face looks brighter, and i notice my face skin tone was slowly getting more similar to my neck skin tone (my neck is brighter than my face). This is a must repurchase <3

first day of usage. it reduces redness on my face.

Next is Nature Republic Shea Butter Mask Sheet:

The mask sheet is nice and doesn't smell disturbing, and it moisturizes my face, too. But it's too slippery when i wash my face with water >.<

Next is innisfree jeju bija & tea tree capsule recipe pack:

It's a thick green paste and it smells weird OTL i think it's suitable for oily skin. it absorbs oil from my skin and turn into a powdery mask when it dries.

HULK!!!

Okay now Sugar Syrup Gloss in lychee scent from holika holika. It smells like lychee <3 It's a really sheer gloss, doesn't really gives you color if you apply moderate amount. It just makes you look like you've just drank a syrup lol. But it also makes my lips look less dry.

A'pieu Aqua Nature Moisty Deep-sea Emulsion:

what is an emulsion? is it used before of after a moisturizer? but i always use it alone or before a moisturizer ._. It's a white liquid and has runny consistency, almost like clinique dramatically different moisture lotion. It has a slight sweet and flowery smell, and it moisturizes just well enough. But it's also slippery when i wash my face with water :s

Holika Holika Cover & Hiding Stick Concealer:

This is in shade number 2, natural beige or something. I like this one better than my missha concealer because the color is closer to my skin tone. And it is easier to blend on my skin.

Nature Republic Natural Color Red Cranberry Pack:

It's a jelly-like wash off mask, elastic and sticky. and yellow. And it smells weird but still bearable. I don't know what it does to me, it just makes my skin feels nice.

oh yeah the shorts. The box offers two colors to choose (navy and white) and i chose white, in medium size. but they gave me the small size O_O

it's obviously too tight on me *wails* i need to slim down u,u

And the rest of the box are the products i haven't tried at all so i can't say anything about them.
