Review: The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter

Ah finally! today i'm writing a review post! \(^0^)/
straight to the point, i'm gonna talk about my long-lived body butter XD This is a strawberry body butter, i bought it from The Body Shop loooong time ago and there's still a half tub of it o.O i don't use it everyday, maybe just every two or three days or when i remember to put it on, so no wonder there's still lots of it ;)

What they say: body moisturiser for normal skin

Ingredients: Aqua, Butyrospermum arkii (Shea Butter), Cyclomethicone, Glycerin, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Butter, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Lanolin Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Xanthan Gum, Fragaria Chiloensis (Strawberry) seed oil, Fragaria Ananassa (strawberry) seed oil, Tocopherol, Benzyl Alcohol, Disodium EDTA, Limonene, Sodium Hydroxide, Cinnamal, Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officialis) Leaf Extract, Linalool, Citral, Caramel, Red 4.

look, it's still the old tub

still a half tub

It comes with a tub D: i wish they had more ideas to put it in anything except the tub. And i scoop it using my own hand after a bath hahahaha (ew)! The strawberry smell is really strong. It smells fake at first but grows better and sweeter after you finish putting it on.

when i put it on my hand

blend blend blend

it's transparent when i blend it, and a little bit of shiny/glowy effect. it's a bit slippery when i put it on, and when i wash my hands. and it's kinda sticky too. But it's ok it will be good when it's already absorbed in the skin. It  moisturises my skin, it makes my dry elbow feels smooth and supple. I have normal skin (body) so i don't know if it works for those with dry skin or not. But it works on me.

Conclusion:

 Pros:
-smells good
-it moisturises my skin
-200 ml lasts forever (at least for me)

Cons:
-it's in a tub
-kinda slippery and sticky
-parabens! D:

I love it, i really love it <3 but as we all know The Body Shop has huge collection of nice body butter and of course i need to try each of them! So i think i'll purchase different scent after i finish this one :)

tadaaah!

the cutting is a bit uneven lol XD so now i'm planning to use them as notice boards, to remind me of tasks and other stuffs i might forget ;)

Review: The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Night Cream

Oh hai again :D good news as usual, this is a review :D
i was hoping to do a review about various brands of products but i'm just too addicted to The Body Shop OTL

So today i'm gonna talk about a night cream from Aloe vera line from The Body Shop. I decided to buy it because it's for sensitive skin so it must be safe for other skin types too.

What they say: This rich, dermatologically tested night cream hydrates skin that needs more gentle care.
      •     Moisturises
      •     Fragrance, colour and alcohol-free
      •     No added preservatives
Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Butylene Glycol, Elaeis guineensis, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Isononyl Isononanoate, Myristyl Myristate, Octyldodecanol, Sesamum indicum, Squalene, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum parkii, Aqua, Panthenol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Xanthan Gum, Bisabolol, Avena sativa

This cream comes in a tub with a lid on top of the product. I usually just dip my finger in it after washing my face at night haha. It's a cream with slightly thick consistency, almost like a butter. It's also fragrance free. It's good but it feels like i can smell my own scent all over my face after applying it :p it's just funny XD

on my hand

Its absorbs quite quickly and doesn't make my face oily if applied at proper amount. I sometimes put too much amount of it and my face looks slippery but it's just a matter of looks. It gives a slight cooling or calming feel on my face. I let it sit all night and the morning after it looks good. My face looks better than when i don't have it applied. It shines more and my face feels smoother and softer. It doesn't really brighten my face tho. It just shines. And it doesn't break me out, which is the number one problem of oily skin (y)

bonus my face after slapping the cream on it
It's good but i think it's too weak (?) for my thick and harsh skin haha XD i haven't notice any significant improvement after i use it every night. It improves my skin if i use it but my skin goes back to its tired self if i don't use it.

Conclusion:
Pros:
-kinda calm my raging face
-hydrates my face
-no fragrance. good for sensitive skin
-absorbs quite well
-doesn't break me out
-makes my skin better
-no parabens

Cons:
-comes in a tub
-too weak (haha XD)

I like this but i'm looking for stronger night cream :D I might finish this first tho before looking for other cream. any suggestion?

Review: The Body Shop Shea Lip Butter

So as usual it'a a review post (yay!)
straight to the topic, today i'm gonna review TBS shea lip butter
i forgot to check the ingredients before i gave it to my brother, so go find it yourself ;) *sorry*

on my lips

As you can see it's a butter in a tub (you don't say?) just like any other lip butter products from The Body Shop. It's shea lip butter so it smells like nut, but my nose notices a hint of coconut smell (?) is it because coconut is 'coco' 'nut'? *ignore this*

And yes, you need to dip your finger to get the product (ew) or at least use a cotton bud to pick it. Don't worry that the cotton bu will absorb most of the product, because this butter lasts forever. Like, forever. It lasts forever that i get too bored with it and want to try other scent so i gave it to my brother just a while ago.

It's a butter so it is expected to work better than balms or creams or gels. And it does. It's the longest staying lip care among the products i've tried, although the smell doesn't really stay long. It's also the most hydrating lip care among all the products i've tried. It's transparent but it gives a shine to my lips. And it gives slight whitish color if i accidentally put it too much.

I just hope it runs out quickly so i don't feel like it's a waste to buy this at that price with this huge amount of butter hehe ^^

Conclusion:
Pros:
-works better than other types of lip care
-stays longer than other types of lip care
-it's scented. at least my nose smells something pleasant

Cons:
-comes with a tub. ew.
-took forever to finish OTL

so i might repurchase this, but i would like to try other scents~

Review: The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream

Hi! *waves* it's a queue post actually ;) just in case i don't have time to write a review in this coming weeks ;) so fortunately this is a review post :D

We all know that the Vitamin E range is kinda famous at The Body Shop, so i'm gonna review this vitamin E moisture cream. Although my skin is oily combination, it still gets flaky during cold weather so i need ultra hydration for my skin plus luckily i got this cream for free ;)

What they claim: Our bestselling daily moisturiser hydrates skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth.
      • Hydrates and protects
      • Light and easily absorbed
      • Leaves skin soft and healthy-looking
Ingredients: Aqua, Isopropyl Palmitate, Sorbitol, Lanolin, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Esters, Steareth-2, PEG-100 Stearate, Ceresin, Triethanolamine, Tocopheryl Acetate, Steareth-20, Carbomer, Methylparaben, Parfum, Benzyl Benzoate, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Hydroxycitronellal, Isobutylparaben, Propylparaben, Limonene, Geraniol, Linalool, Citronellol, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, CI 14700.

It's a cream with medium consistency

on my hand
It comes with a tub, so i need to be careful with my fingers to keep it clean. It doesn't have SPF in it but who cares, i don't really work outside. I mostly study inside rooms with air conditioner so this is a must wear for me especially during cold weather.
It smells just like any other vitamin E range, and it moisturizes my oily skin enough for a day. I only need to apply a little for each application and the dry patches all disappear and i don't feel any oily feeling on my face :D
I got it in mini size (15 ml) but it looks like it might last forever :o

Conclusion:
Pros:
-it hydrates my skin
-a little goes a long way
-doesn't break me out
-absorbs quite well

Cons:
-comes in a tub
-parabens!~ >.<

I like it, i really like it, but the parabens in it just turn me off... i think i need to try other moisturizer after i finish this one.

Review: The Body Shop Born Lippy Lip Balm (Plum & Lychee)

Ah finally i made this review about Born Lippy Lip Balm ^^
So as i've showed you before, i bought two born lippy lip balms, plum and lychee flavoured. I didn't really pay attention to what it claims tho. The packaging is cute and efficient, with retractable tubes that's absolutely better than jars.

Let's see how it looks:

with flash (top: plum; bottom: lychee)
without flash (top: plum; bottom: lychee)

On my lips:

lychee
plum
Please ignore my weird lips >.<
I applied them a little too much so the camera can catch it. As you can see from the pictures, the lychee lip balm is more of a shimmer than a balm because it's really sparkly, you can use it if you want to highlight the lips. I think it's not really suitable for daily use.
The plum lip balm looks more natural, it's still really sheer even if i apply it a little too much. It will be good if you put it on top of a stain because it will give healthy shine to your lips. I like to use it daily because it just looks really 'normal' but it improves my lips appearance.

Both of them smells good and don't have a taste. But i think the don't really moisturize my lips (the lip butter does the job better) and also they don't stay long, if i can't say they disappear really quickly. i think they just disappear after 30 minutes o.O
It moisten my lips when it's there but after it disappears.... swoosh~ my lips go back to its ugly self ._.

Conclusion:
Pros:
-better packaging
-smells good
-cute colour
-have their own purpose (one for party etc., one for daily use)
-can be combined with other lip make up

Cons:
-doesn't really moisturize
-staying power is really weak

So i still need more hydration for my lips...

Review: The Body Shop Strawberry Soap

Finally i'm back *sigh* i'm just too tired to write stuffs, sorry :(
So the good news is, this is a review post!! *\(^0^)/*
So i'm gonna say a few words about this strawberry soap bar from The Body Shop:

sorry you can't really see the ingredients here ._.

I got it for free as my first birthday gift from The Body Shop :D
It smells really strawberry-y, the smell is strong, even i can smell it from outside the wrap hehe ^^ It has smooth surface and glides on easily on your skin if you wash it with water. But i think it's slightly different from the shower gel of the same line. I think it gives less moisture than the shower gel one. It just cleans my skin, leaving my skin feeling squeaky clean but it's not as smooth as when i use the shower gel on my body. It's good for quick shower tho because it comes off easily with water (i need to wash my body thousand times to get rid of the shower gel). Well so honestly i don't have much to say about a soap bar. It just... cleans your body, isn't it? :D

So let's sum this up:
Pros:
-it smells good, and strong
-it cleans my skin
-it comes off easily with water (good for quick shower ;) )

 Cons:
-it doesn't really moisturize my skin

well overall i think there's nothing special about it except from it's scent. A soap bar is a soap bar, right? See ya.

The Body Shop Mini Haul

Hi! Finally I’m back!! \(^0^)/ *sobs*

Finally I had a four-days-holiday and my mom came to see me <3
We visited relatives, ate lots of foods, and of course, went shopping~ so while my mom was still here I asked her to buy me some of my beauty needs, you know what I mean ;)

So apparently my mom took me to the body shop (again -,-) but it’s okay, I got to shop all I want ;) But I was not really in good terms with make up so I only buy skin care products. So these are what I got:

i put mosaic on my reflection because it's embarassing lol XD
they are:
  • TBS Born Lippy Lip Balm (plum and lychee)
  • TBS All in One Face Base (shade 04)
  • TBS Aloe Soothing Night Cream

Oh yeah I need to tell you something. While choosing the products, I tried their eye definer in black, and my eyes hated it, totally hated it.
I have huge eyebags (bonus dark circles~) and oily lids, so the liner made me look like an old panda and when I blink, it transfers! IT FUCKING TRANSFERS!!! OTL so I think you won’t find me buying this liner anytime soon unless they change the formula ;_____; I really need an eyeliner tho so what do you think is the best eyeliner for me? The one that doesn’t worsen my eyebags and doesn’t transfer? Tell me please J

Ok so back to the haul, I already have some review photos and swatches but I haven’t made the text yet so please bear a little (again!) hehe i'm sorry *bows*

i'll try to start posting a review after i'm done with my exam so please forgive me :""" *bows*
i don't even have time to tidy up my room...

and my desperate chat with simsimi...

Ok once again i'm sorry *bows 1000 times*

Not A Review: Clinique Long Last Lipstick (Berry Freeze-10)

Not a review? Why? D:
hehe i bought this clinique lipstick today but it's not for me, it's for my mom ;) She always buy this lipstick everytime she gets a chance to. Clinique is not available in my hometown so my mom have to go out of town to get this. I once took a peek at the shade number when she bought it last year, i think it's number 10. Then i asked her today but she forgot which number it is, because she has almost no time to go out of town so she has been wearing the dupe after this lipstick ran out. I want to give it to her as a surprise, I hope this is the right shade and i hope she still likes it :s

berry freeze (10)
At the counter they put the swatch on my hand and even they put it on my lips, thinking i buy it for myself, and it looks good on me <3 Well my lips and my mother's lips are kinda similar so i think it might look good on her too ;)
When i rub my finger on my lips to even out the color, I notice that it has some slight glitter in it, just the right amount of glitter. The lipstick gives me a womanly, elegant look, not just a pretty girl look. Too bad i didn't take a photo :(

Me unboxing the lipstick (i swear i didn't try it!)  :

without flash
with flash
Well that's my story for today :) i'm sorry i didn't post anything for almost a week (and this is not even a review post T.T) I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry *bows 90 degrees*

Review: The Body Shop Lip Scuff

Finally, after abandoning this blog for a busy week, i'm back \(^0^)/ immunopathology sure is something :s and all of this organization thingy *sigh* nvm now let me spend some quality time with this blog ;)

I'm going to review TBS Lip Scuff because i put it in use recently to settle my chapped lips.

What it says on the web: A moisturising lip care product that gently exfoliates the lips to help remove dead skin cells, leaving the lips feeling smooth, soft and conditioned which evens the surface of the skin to better absorb Lip Colour, making it last for longer. Dermatologically tested.

Ingredients: can't find it yet >.<

At first i was impressed by its appearance. It looks like a lipstick with its black tube and silver cap. But when you open it, oolala it's a lip scuff -,- Then when you open it, the first thing you notice was the faint smell of peppermint. It smells refreshing but it reminds me of my peppermint foot scrub OTL

It contains some granules in it to scrub off some dead skin cells. At the first application it's not very effective because the first layer was very smooth that you can't feel the granules. It started to feel good the next time i apply it because i can feel the granules rubbing my chapped lips.

It can be very drying, so first i apply some lip butter to my lips, leaving it almost dry, then i apply the lip scuff after that. It takes quite a good amount of the scuff to clean my lips off :o after that i clean my lips with tissue and my lips feels really soft and smooth it looks like it's ready to be kissed anytime. It doesn't stop there, i need to apply lip butter again because it kinda dried my lips out if i don't do anything after using it :s

Conclusion

Pros:
-it looks good
-it smells good
-easy to apply
-it works if used in proper way (it leaves my lips feeling soft and smooth)

Cons:
-it takes quite a lot of the product to clean your lips
-it can be drying

It looks so ordinary and the price is kinda annoying but i need this to get rid of  excessive skin on my lips (because my lip butter alone can't do that) so i think i will repurchase it ;) But it runs out quite quickly oh! >.<

Cracking Nail Polish

So i tried some random nail polish last week and i just want to share the result because this is my first time wearing a nail polish hahah --"

This is just some random brand of nail polish bought at random store with random intention so i won't make this post as a review because this is just too random *sigh*
It's called cracking nail polish since it will create cracking patterns on your nails when it dries.

Here's the pics:

The Results:

the base coat. leave it until almost dry then apply the second coat.

The second coat is matte black and it will start to crack as it dries. Apply thin layer for small cracks and thic layer for big cracks. Then you put the top transparent coat and it's done ;)

okay that's all i can share haha

Review: The Body Shop Seaweed Pore-Cleansing Facial Exfoliator

What it says: Oil-balancing polish to deep cleanse pores and reveal smooth skin.

Ingredients: Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Olea Europaea Seed Powder, Acrylates Copolymer, Lauryl Betaine, Glycerin, Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil, Pentylene Glycol, Phenethyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Parfum, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Hydroxide, Luffa Cylindrica, Sodium Chloride, Fucus Vesiculosus Extract, Disodium EDTA, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Benzyl Salicylate, Tocopherol.

This is my holy grail. Enough said. Or maybe not.
So far i only have two tubes but I know I can’t live without this. I have huge pores, and that means huge blackheads (I won’t post the pic cus it’s disgusting) so I need this to exfoliate my face. I normally use it twice a week.
It comes with a matte white tube. It is a transparent yellow liquid with slightly harsh beads, I think it’s not really good for those with sensitive skin. But it works on me bcs my skin is as thick as a rhino’s skin (jk)

It leaves my skin feeling smooth, really smooth, and clean. It really exfoliates my face. But when I see the mirror I can still see some of my blackheads there, but with smaller and smoother pores. You won't realize that you still have some blackheads on your nose if you don't look into the mirror. The latest and previous tube shapes are slightly different but they have the same content and ingredients. (sorry i dropped the first tube and broke the cap).

What I don’t really like is, it smells weird. just weird. It's not bad though but since this is my opinion i think i'm gonna put this as a con. And besides, just like another products aimed for oily skin, it tends to dry my skin out when i'm in cold weather and i don't have enough oil on my face.

Conclusion

Pros:
-it exfoliates my skin, leaving it feeling smooth and clean

Cons:
-I don’t like the smell
-it may be too harsh for those with sensitive skin
-it leaves my skin flaky when I’m in cold weather

Will repurchase? I already did ;)

Review: The Body Shop Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash

What it says: Combination/oily skin. Refreshing gel. Removes impurities, make-up and excess oil.

Ingredients: Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Polysorbate 20, PEG-150 distearate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Sodium Chloride, Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Parfum, Citric Acid, Butylene glycol, Menthol, Disodium EDTA, Fucus Vesiculosus Extract, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Salicylate, Chondrus Crispus Extract, Tocopherol.

This is my first tube and i've been using this for several months. It comes with a transparent tube and a flip top, it’s so The-Body-Shop-y type of packaging. My skin is normal to oily/combination so I can say this works for me. It is a clear liquid with runny consistency and a faint smell with it, and I think the smell is not bad. It’s rather good to me. At first I thought it won’t work for me, but after I rinse my face I feel that the oil is gone, and my face feels smoother and has more glow on it.

But that is the only thing it can do: cleaning my face. That’s all. Since this is in the seaweed range, I expect some other benefit like keeping my face from getting oily longer than other facial wash. But no it doesn’t. It’s not like the staying power is bad, it is just so so.

Another thing, I think this is not a good choice if you have dry skin. My college is located in a cold place, so does my dorm, and I don’t use it everyday (only when I feel my face is oily enough) because it will dry your skin out. The T-zone is okay because it is always oily (sigh) but it tightens other parts of my face and leaves my cheek flaky and rough. I usually use the vitamin E range when i stay in cold place.

Conclusion

Pros:
-It cleans my face (good for oily face)
-It leaves my face feeling smooth and looking fresh
-It lasts long, despite the runny consistency

Cons:
-Not good for those with dry skin

Overall i like it as my everyday facial wash. This is the best so far. Will i repurchase? Yes, before i find a better one. Any suggestion for better facial wash?

Review: The Body Shop Camomile Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover

What it says: All-in-one lash and lid cleansing, conditioning and softening. All skin types.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Polysorbate 20, Coco-Glucoside, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract, Citric Acid, Methylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Potassium Sorbate, Rosa Damascena Flower Extract, Sodium Butylparaben, Sodium Ethylparaben, Sodium Methylparaben, Sodium Propylparaben

It comes with a big fat bottle with a flip top, like tbs would normally use. I bought this recently during buy 3-get 1 free promo (so I get my Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash for free haha). This is a good deal with the price, because you get 250 ml for only IDR 99,000,- (around USD $10)
So far I have only used it for cleaning my mascara (this) because I have never used any color on my eyes except for parties.
It is a clear liquid, as an eye make up remover normally comes with. It does clean my eyes, but I don’t know about conditioning or softening because I always wash my face and use my toner after that so I don’t know who exactly do the conditioning and softening part.

What I hate is it smells weird. It smells like a chemical solution. It just don’t smell good. And it once gets in my right eye and it hurts like hell, ugh. I always have that rant in my head everytime I use this: where is the gentle part you’re talking about?! OTL

Conclusion

Pros
-It does clean my eyes
-It's a good deal with the price

Cons
-It smells weird
-It stings my eyes
-Parabens everywhere *cries*

Will Repurchase? Not now. There are so many make up removers i would like to try ;)

Review: The Body Shop Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash

What it says: Creamy skin-caring daily cleansing with built-in antioxidant protection. Rinses away make-up and impurities. All skin types.

Ingredients: Aqua, Glycine Soja, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Coco-Glucoside, Triticum vulgare, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Acrylates/Steareth-20 Methacrylate Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Benzoate, Parfum, Benzyl Benzoate, Hydroxycitronellal, Disodium EDTA, Limonene, Geraniol, Tocopherol, Linalool, Citronellol, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Cl 17200, Cl 14700.

I got it during buy 3 get 1 free promotion, it's free since it was the cheapest price among the products i bought ;) It comes with a tube and flip top normally The Body Shop facial wash product comes with. It is a matte liquid and it smells weird but soft.

I have normal to oily skin but it turns into dry skin in cold weather. My skin gets all dry and rough and flaky and every problems that occur to dry skin, especially my cheek.
The first time i tried this it feels really slick and greasy but after i wash it off it feels good. It cleans my face while moisturizing my skin without looking oily and greasy. There's nothing on my face but my face just feels smooth and plump, and all the dry patch is all gone.
But it doesn't work when i use it during hot weather. My skin produces too much oil during hot weather and i need something more than this. Something with oil control that prevents excess oil on my face, maybe.

Conclusion

Pros:
-It does cleans and moisturizes my face
-it's free (haha XD)

Cons:
-Not for oily skin

Repurchase? Yes <3

Review: Maybelline Unstoppable Curly Extension Mascara

This is my first mascara ever. The packaging is cute, the pink color is good though (for me who is not a pink lover). It comes with slim brush with short bristle, and the handle is so right for me to put the mascara on.

I normally only apply a little so it doesn’t look like I’m wearing a mascara. Even my brother doesn’t notice it after I go out with him for awhile. He says the lashes just look better but don’t look fake.

bare --> curled ---> mascara. excuse my pores ugh.

It does lengthen my lashes, but I don’t know about it’s curling power because I always use a lash curler before I apply it. At least my lash stays at where the should be, or in short it didn’t make my lash look droopy. The staying power before it messes up is… I don’t really know. Yesterday i went out with my family and wore it from 6.30 AM to 11 PM and here's the result:

it looks like it's gone but the curl is still there. no smudge.

Much to my surprise, it doesn’t clump my lash, even without using lash comb. Or is it because I only apply a thin layer of it? I don’t know. It says that it is a waterproof mascara, but i haven't tried that part yet (doing such things like crying or swimming with this mascara on). It comes off easily with make up remover tho.

I notice that this mascara needs perfect timing when you want to wear it. when it's still new it's all wet and heavy and smudgy but when you have used it for three or four times, it's perfect. And i'm afraid it will not work if one day it dries out :s

Conclusion

Pros:
-it makes me look better but still look natural
-it lengthens my lashes
-It doesn’t clump
-easy to use

Cons:
-It lacks of volume (of course betch because It doesn’t say anything about volume! It’s not its fault then *sigh)
-you need to find the perfect timing to use it. ugh.

Will I repurchase? Um not now, there are so many mascaras out there, I still want to try out some ;) it is good but this one can wait :D
